PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. John Fisher freshman Emma Sweazy has been named Empire 8 Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday. This marks her second time earning the honor this season.
Sweazy placed first on the individual leaderboard in the 2025 Empire 8 Women's Golf Invite, which took place at the Teugega Country Club in Rome on Sunday and Monday. She turned in a nine-over 80 in the first round and an 11-over 82 in the second to finish +20 (163), six strokes ahead of teammates Ava Malvaso and Sarah Burgess. Sweazy had three birdies in the tournament, one on Monday and two on Tuesday.
As a team, the Cardinals carded a 348 on Sunday and a 344 on Monday to win the tournament at +120 (692 strokes). They finished 61 strokes ahead of second-place Nazareth.
