Men's Track and Field Competes At Cornell Open

ITHACA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's track and field team competed at the Cornell University Southern Tier Open on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Oren Welch placed second in the men's pole vault event and set a personal record with his 4.30 mark.
Samuel Burns, another freshman, also logged a top-five finish for Fisher, as he placed third in the long jump (6.51). He set a season personal record with that mark.
Junior Brandon Kaplan finished third in the weight throw event (15.05m), while freshman Blake Reese set a personal record and placed sixth (13.74m).
Freshman Gabriel Cromer placed ninth in the men's 200m run (23.26).
Junior Joey Curr placed fifth in the men's shot put event (13.12).

The Cardinals will compete at the New Balance Boston Track and Field event Jan. 17-19.
