PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2023 NCAA Division III All-Academic Teams and Individual honors. The St. John Fisher University men's and women's cross country teams were selected for their team success, with the women having a 3.73 GPA and the men tallying a 3.38. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
 
Both teams also saw individual success in the classroom. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
 
Riley Jameson, a nursing major who hails from Saratoga Springs, NY, garnered All-Empire 8 first team honors fin 2023 after finishing third at the league championship meet in a career-best time of 21:53.1 over the 6,000-meter course. She also earned All-Atlantic Region honors after placing 26th overall at the regional championship.
 
Brigid McGee, a native of Hamburg, NY, won the Empire 8 Women's Cross Country Torchbearer Award for academic excellence for the third straight year. The education major finished ninth overall at the Empire 8 Championship on Oct. 28 in a career-best time of 22:24.0 over 6,000-meters to earn All-E8 second team accolades for the second straight season. She was also an All-Region selection two weeks later, placing 33rd overall.
 
Ethan Billings, a native of Wantage, NJ, garnered All-NCAA Atlantic Region honors after placing 33rd at the regional championship in a career-best time of 25:36.0. A sport management major, Billings was the 2022 Empire 8 Champion and earned All-E8 first team honors for the fourth straight season, placing sixth overall at the 2023 league championship race.
