GENESEO, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher track and field team kicked off the Outdoor season this weekend, competing in the Geneseo Early Season Invite. The competition continued on Monday, seeing plenty of sprinters battle on the track, while field events were filled with competitors.
Zhane Lettsome finished fourth in the 100m race, hitting a time of 12.49. Lettsome also took fifth place in the 200m, with a mark of 26.15.
Michaela Kurbs and
Isabelle Rowley also completed the race in the top-10, with Kurbs coming in sixth with a time of 12.54 and Rowley crossing the finish line in eighth with a mark of 12.70.
In the 400m race, Grace Wright used a time of 1:01.11 to finish in eighth.
Brenda Le competed in the 400m hurdles and was a fourth-place finisher with a mark of 1:08.38.
In the field events,
Hayly Fredrickson and
Emily Frech, both had top-10 finishes in the pole vault. Fredrickson cleared 2.70 in her first attempt to take seventh place and French cleared the same height in her third attempt to take tenth.
Claudia Vogel took home eighth place with a mark of 1.47 in the high jump.
Veronica Duell was victorious in the long jump, doing so with a leap of 5.53m in her third attempt.
Up next for the Cardinals is the Pioneer Spring Invite, hosted by Utica University. The competition will be held on Saturday, April 8.
