PITTSFORD, NY – The St. John Fisher University women's basketball team will take on Utica University at Manning & Napier Varsity Gym on Tuesday, Feb. 7 for a 5:30 p.m. start. On Saturday, Feb. 11, the Cardinals travel as they take on Nazareth College for a 5:00 p.m. start to part II of the Battle of the Beaks.
Fisher enters the week with a record of 19-2 and 14-0 in the conference, holding the top spot in the Empire 8. The Pioneers enter the week with a record of 9-11 overall and a conference record of 4-9. Fisher has won 15 straight games, with Utica having lost their previous game. Nazareth has won their previous five games, holding an overall record of 16-5 and a conference record of 12-2, putting the Golden Flyers second in the Empire 8, right behind the Cardinals.
Staying on top: Entering the week, Fisher has the largest margin in the Empire 8, holding an average margin of 30.6, with Nazareth in second with 8.0. Through 21 games, the Cardinals average the most steals per game, collecting 14.1 steals per game.
Last time they faced off: Just over a month ago, the Cardinals and the Pioneers faced off, with Fisher coming home with a victory of 76-41, collected in Utica, NY. Fisher has won their previous 18 games against the Pioneers, a streak that began in 2013.
