Last Time Out
Fisher opened the season on the road at No. 4 Tufts University on Sunday, falling to the Jumbos, 80-59. Junior guard
Sidney Tomasso led the Cardinals with 15 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
Know Your Foe, Part One
RIT is a familiar foe for the Cardinals- they were members of the same conference for a time and have played almost yearly since 1999, except for a short stretch between 2013 and 2016. Fisher is 30-9 all-time against the Tigers, including a 15-9 mark since the 2005-06 season.
At last season's Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout, the Cardinals won 70-48.
Sidney Tomasso had 19 points in the victory.
Know Your Foe, Part Two
Like RIT, the University of Rochester is a common opponent in St. John Fisher women's basketball history. The Cardinals and Yellowjackets have played 45 times in their history, with Fisher holding the 28-17 advantage. Fisher has had tougher times in recent decades, though: the Cardinals are 4-11 against U of R since 2009, including a 68-55 defeat last season.
Player To Watch
Freshman forward
Joleen Lusk made an immediate impact in her first collegiate game on Sunday, scoring 12 points and making five rebounds in the loss to Tufts. She was second in both stats to only Tomasso. She'll try to continue her early success at this year's Crosstown Shootout.
What's Next
After the two Shootout games, the Cardinals open their home schedule next week when they host Penn State Behrend on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 4 P.M.
