Both the St. John Fisher College men's and women's basketball teams will look to stay near the top of the Empire 8 Conference standings, as the Cardinals head to Utica College on Tuesday.
On the men's side, Fisher currently hold a seven-game winning streak against Utica. Fisher won 94-68 against the Pioneers just eight days ago, and last season, the CarÂdinals defeated Utica 68-47. Coming into tonight's game, which starts at 6 p.m., Fisher (15-5, 9-2) has won 11 of its last 13 contests and is coming off of an 88-82 overtime victory over Nazareth.
Keegan Ryan led for the Cardinals posting a career-high 28 points and 15 rebounds.Â
Alex Sausville also set a career-high for points, scoring 23.
The women's team has won their last six meetings against the Pioneers. Last Monday, Fisher claimed a 92-60 victory over the Pioneers, as the Cardinals racked up a season-high 29 assists on 31 field goals. Coming into tonight's game, which is scheduled to start at 8 p.m., Fisher (17-3, 10-1) has won 12 of its last 13 matchups, most recently a 61-58 win over rival Nazareth College in the Battle of the Beaks. The Cardinals were able to rally from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter to take the win in the final minute of play.
