Bombers Roll Past Women's Basketball

Box Score

The St. John Fisher women's basketball team fell 77-43 to host Ithaca College Saturday as the Bombers completed the season sweep of the Cardinals.

With the loss Fisher falls to 14-9 overall and 6-6 in the Empire 8.  Ithaca improves to 18-4, 10-1.

Mary Kate Cusack started out hot for Fisher scoring nine of the Cardinals first 19 points as Fisher trailed by three, 22-19, midway through the opening half.

However Fisher went cold from the field scoring just one field goal over the final 10 minutes as the Bombers went on an 18-6 run to close out the half.  Ithaca held a 40-25 advantage at the break.

Ithaca carried that momentum into the second half as Fisher would come no closer than the 15-point halftime margin.

The Bombers shot an impressive 46 percent from the field while the Cardinals finished the game shooting just 30 percent.

Cusack scored in double-figures for the sixth straight game and 18th time this season, finishing with 15 points.  Camaryn Buckner was the only other Fisher player to score in double-figures as she ended the game with 10 points.

Fisher will return to action at 8 p.m. next Friday and will host Nazareth College in the final home game of the 2013-2014 regular season.   Proceeds from Friday's "Battle of the Beaks" will go to the Golisano Children's Hospital.   The first 300 fans at the game will also receive a Fisher free glass, courtesy of Monroe Roadways.
