Brockport Rallies To Beat Fisher In Women's Soccer

BOX SCORE
In a rematch of last year's ECAC Upstate Championship, the St. John Fisher College women's soccer team jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but Brockport scored the game's final two goals and rallied for a 2-1 win over the visiting Cardinals on Friday afternoon.  The game was the second of four contests in the Golden Challenge for a Pink Cure, a four-team soccer tournament that raises awareness for Breast Cancer.

Fisher, who defeated Brockport 3-2 in last year's title game,  took a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute as freshman Taryn Guinta scored her first career goal off a pass from Chelsea Oberkrieser.

Brockport tied the game in the closing moment of the first half and scored the game-winning goal in the 63rd minute.

Fisher out-shot Brockport 17-16 for the game, but wasn't able to tally the equalizer.

Junior Brooke Seavitt saw her first career action in goal and made four saves over 90 minutes.

Fisher (0-3) will return to action at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at Brockport and will face SUNY Geneseo (1-2).  The Blue Knights lost 2-0 to Nazareth College on Friday.
