Both the St. John Fisher College field hockey and women's soccer teams are in action at 11 a.m. on Saturday, competing in the Empire 8 Conference Championship in their respective sports.
Both squads are the No. 4 seeds in the four-team championship and will have to knock off the host institutions to advance to Sunday's championship game. The winner of Sunday's Empire 8 Championship game will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.
Field hockey (9-9) is making its second postseason appearance in just its third year as an NCAA program. The Cardinals, who are coming an impressive 4-2 win over St. Lawrence University last Saturday, will face top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Hoboken, NJ.  The two squads met nearly four weeks ago with Fisher battling back from a 3-0 deficit to force overtime in the final minute of regulation, only to have the Ducks score the game-winning goal in overtime on a penalty stroke.

Women's soccer (9-10) is playing in the Empire 8 Championship for the third straight year and will face top-seeded Ithaca College (14-2) at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams met just 10 days ago with Fisher scoring the game's final two goals and picking up a 2-1 win in overtime over the Bombers, then-ranked No. 5 in the nation. The win marked the highest-ranked team the Cardinals have ever defeated and guaranteed Fisher a spot in the Empire 8 Championship.
