Fisher's Rohloff Heads Home Winner For Women's Soccer

BOX SCORE

The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team won its fourth straight match on Saturday, as the Cardinals defeated visiting Alfred University 2-0 in an Empire 8 Conference matchup.  With the win, Fisher improves to 7-7 overall and 2-0 in the Empire 8 Conference standings.  The four-game winning streak is the longest since 2001.

Fisher took 21 shots before finding the back of the net.  In the 76th minute, freshman Taryn Guinta crossed a pass from the left side.  The ball skipped on the turf and senior Alexandra Rohloff headed the ball into the near-post to record her second game-winning goal in as many games.

Junior Allison Mooney scored on a pass from Carly Finn. It was Mooney's first career goal and Finn's first assist.

Brooke Seavitt was credited with the shutout.

Fisher returns to action 1 p.m. on Sunday and will host Stevens Institute of Technology, who lost at Nazareth College today.  Both Fisher and Stevens are battling for one of four spots in the Empire 8 Conference Championship.
