Women's Soccer Drops Decision At Houghton

BOX SCORE

The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team had it three-game unbeaten streak come to an end on Wednesday night, as the Cardinals dropped a 5-1 decision at Houghton College on Wednesday night.

With the loss, Fisher falls to 6-5-4 overall.  Houghton is a provisional member in the Empire 8 Conference and the game does not impact Fisher's 3-0-3 record in conference play.

The Cardinals scored the game's opening goal.  Heather Konieczny scored her fourth goal of the season off a pass from Chelsea Oberkrieser in the 16th minute, but the Highlanders tied the game up just under nine minutes later.

Houghton (10-6) scored two goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half to take control and tacked on two goals in the final 10 minutes to seal the win.

Sydney DeVitto stopped six shots in the losing effort.

Fisher will return to action on Saturday at Stevens Institute of Technology.
