The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team outnumbered The College at Brockport in shots on goal, but couldn't capitalize as
the Cardinals fell 2-0 to the Golden Eagles on the road this afternoon.
Fisher forced Brockport's goalkeeper to make six saves, but a span of 2:15 in the first half would be detrimental to the Cardinals' fight. Brockport's Gina Laing put the Golden Eagles on the board after she grabbed a rebound just outside the box and popped it over Fisher goalkeeper
Noel Peck's head. Just over two minutes later, Brockport increased its lead to two.
The second half went scoreless, despite Fisher adding seven shots.
Jessica Plukas took post between the pipes, tallying one save.
Fisher's
Val Hanson and
Chelsea Oberkrieser each tallied two shots on goal.
The Cardinals, 0-1, return to action Saturday in a doubleheader weekend of non-conference matches at home. Fisher hosts Clarkson University on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. before facing Centenary on Sunday at 1 p.m.
