The St. John Fisher
women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Clarkson University on Saturday afternoon at Growney Stadium. With the loss the Cardinals fell to 0-2 on the season.
Fisher dominated the first half, controlling possession for a majority of the time and out shooting Clarkson 7-3 in the period. Despite the control of the ball, the Cardinals failed to find the back of the net and went into halftime knotted at zero.
Clarkson started to gain momentum in the second half and it culminated when senior Hilary Mosher (Hilton/Hilton) fought past a myriad of Fisher defenders, heading the ball to herself multiple times until she beat the keeper one-on-one with a kick to the bottom right portion of the goal.
The Cardinals were led by sophomore
Krista Pilla, who took a team-high five shots, including three on goal, but none made it past the keeper.
Fisher returns to action on Sunday when it hosts Centenary College at 1 p.m.
