The St. John Fisher College women's basketball team closed out its Wendy's College Classic play

Nazareth built up another lead, but the Cardinals were able to get within three points twice in the final minutes of the game. However, the team could not get any closer as the Golden Flyers held on for the win.
At the half, Fisher trailed the Golden Flyers by a 35-22 score.
Portia Velasco scored eight points in the first stanza for the Cardinals, while Soja and
Sydney Bloomstein both had four rebounds.
The Cardinals played much cleaner in the second half, with only four turnovers compared to their ten first-half giveaways.

The Cardinal will return to action at 2 p.m. next Sunday, November 11
