Fisher-Utica Game Notes

The St. John Fisher College football team is set to take on the Utica College Pioneers under the lights of Growney Stadium at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.

Both schools are familiar with each other, as former Cardinal defensive coordinator Blaise Faggiano is currently the head coach of the Pioneers. Utica is coming off the program's first win over Ithaca in which it scored 15 unanswered points to beat the Bombers, Faggiano's alma mater where he won a national championship in 1991.

Likewise, Fisher is coming off an impressive 33-6 win over Springfield College, holding the number one rushing offense to 256 yards below its average on the ground, surrendering just 132 yards. The Cardinals remain undefeated in conference play and will look to keep their record intact to setup a matchup of conference unbeatens the following weekend against Salisbury University. No. 14 Salisbury will travel to face No. 7 Wesley this weekend in a non-conference matchup.
