Stevens Uses First-Half Run To Beat Fisher in Women's Basketball

The St. John Fisher College women's basketball team dropped a 63-45 decision to host Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday night.  With the loss, Fisher falls to 5-9 overall and 2-3 in the Empire 8.

The Cardinals jumped out to an 11-5 lead over the game's opening seven minutes, but the next seven minutes didn't go as smoothly, as Stevens used a 23-2 run to take command at 28-13 with seven minutes left in the first half.

Fisher trimmed a 37-23 halftime-lead down to 11 points on two different occasions over the final 20 minutes, but didn't get any closer.

Camaryn Buckner and Colleen Maloney each scored 12 points for Fisher. Buckner also led the Cardinals with six boards.

Fisher will return to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Hartwick College.
