The St. John Fisher College women's basketball team took home third place in the Wendy's College Classic with
a 75-48 win over Brockport at University of Rochester's Palestra this afternoon.
The Cardinals took a 19-point lead into the locker room at the pause, and extended it from there, garnering as much as a 24-point lead throughout the second half. Lay-ups from
Bonny Gardner and
Molly Dougherty would seal the 27-point lead for the win.
Senior
Mary Kate Comfort led Fisher with a career-high 22 points, pairing it with 10 rebounds to earn her first double-double of the season.
Colleen Maloney was right behind her with 20 points, grabbing eight boards, making two steals, and adding a block.
Brockport was led by Whitney Smith, who tallied 20 points.
With the win, the Cardinals improve to 8-6 on the season. Fisher returns to action on Tuesday as the Cardinals continue conference play, hosting the Elmira College Soaring Eagles at 6 p.m. at Manning & Napier Varsity Gym.
