Women's Basketball Downs Bengals For 800th Win

The St. John Fisher College women's basketball program picked up its 800th overall win tonight, as the Cardinals defeated visiting Buffalo State College 66-41 tonight at Fisher's Manning & Napier Varsity Gym.
Fisher is the all-time winningest program in NCAA Division III history and owns an overall record of 800-176 over its 35-year history, with 797 of the Cardinals' victories coming from Phil Kahler, who retired earlier this month after leading Fisher for 34 years.

The Cardinals, who are 3-1 this year under interim head coach Marianne O'Connor Ermi, jumped out to a 39-14 lead, shooting 53.3% from the floor and posting a 28-12 advantage on the glass.
Freshman Kristi Jeffres led the Cardinals with a career-high 12 points. Jeffres, making her first career start, shot 6-for-9 from the floor and blocked a career-high five shots.
Sophomore Colleen Maloney scored nine of Fisher's first 10 points and finished with 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds.  Kristen Taliento came off the bench and chipped in with 10 points and three steals.
