The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team picked up a 6-0 win, registering five goals in the second half over visiting Alfred University Thursday night at Fisher's Growney Stadium.
With the win, Fisher improves to 6-9-2 overall and 4-4 in the Empire 8 Conference, while Alfred falls to 4-11-2 overall, 0-8 in the Empire 8.
Fisher exploded for five goals in the second half, including four goals in a 10-minute span to keep the game out of reach.
Joelle Joseph gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead on a free kick in the 57

Kelly Zeppetella assisted on goals in the 71
st and 77
th minutes to put the game away, capping a run that also included an Alfred own-goal in the 68
th minute.
Junior
Kaelyn Witz crossed up the goalie with a shot across the goal just inside the far post off Zepptella's pass in the 71
st, while
Mary Dougherty scored the first of her two goals when Zeppetella left her the ball on a breakaway in the 77
th minute.
Dougherty added the games final tally in the 78
th minute on a blast from the right side of the 18-yard box.
The Cardinals out shot the Saxons 39-2 in the win, and began the scoring in the 13
th minute when
Amanda Siebert beat the keeper under the crossbar on pass from
Sarah Bihl for Fisher's only goal of the first half.

Fisher will return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday and will host Buffalo State College in the season-finale for both teams. Prior to the start of the game, Fisher will recognize its senior class.
