Cardinals Tie Visiting SUNY Geneseo

BOX SCORE

The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team recorded a 1-1 tie with visiting SUNY Geneseo in a snowy game at Growney Stadium on Wednesday night.

The tie brings Fisher's record to 5-9-2 on the season, while the Blue Knights are now 10-5-2.
Senior forward Kelly Zeppetella gave the Cardinals a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute when she scored on a direct free-kick. The Cardinals continued to control the pace of the game through much of the first half, and enjoyed the lead until the 68th minute.

Geneseo's Melissa Beale put a shot on the goal that bounced around in front of the net until Stephanie Bergin collected the loose ball in front of the net and scored with a low shot past Fisher keeper Ashley Martin.

Martin stopped four shots in the contest, including a diving save in the 65th minute that held the Blue Knights off the board.

Fisher (5-9-2 overall) will host Alfred University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
