St. John Fisher University Athletics

Emily Trotman (East Amherst/ Mount Saint Mary Academy) of the St. John Fisher College softball team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week. Trotman was key in Fisher's impressive start to the season as it went 7-3 while going 3-1 in the NFCA Leadoff Classic. The junior batted .457 while earning six RBIs and 13 runs. 
 
On the mound, the East Amherst native started in five games and pitched in seven over the week. Trotman picked up four wins while throwing three complete games and posting a 2.46 ERA. The Mount Saint Mary Academy graduate struck out 32 batters over 42.2 innings pitched. 
 
In the 7-4 win over No. 14 St. Thomas (Minn.), Trotman pitched in all seven innings while giving up two earned runs and striking out five batters. At the plate, the utility player went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored. The junior would go onto be selected to the NFCA Leadoff Classic All-Tournament team. 
 
Softball will be in action again on Wednesday, March 25 when it hosts the University of Rochester for a doubleheader that starts at 3 p.m.
