Tyler English of the men’s basketball team has been named the St. John Fisher College Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on November 27, 2016
English averaged 14.5 points in 44 minutes played over the course of the team’s two games played over the week, as Fisher posted a 1-1 record.
The Lockport native began the week with a 15 point performance in the win over SUNY Oneonta, shooting 55.6% (5-for-9) from the field. English sank three crucial free throws nearing the end of regulation that solidified the Cardinals’ win. In the loss to nationally-ranked College at Wooster, the guard hung 14 points going 5-for-15 from the field.
Aside from his scoring, English also racked up five dimes to add to his team leading nine on the season. Underneath the basket, the junior collected 10 boards as well.
Fisher returns to play this weekend as the team goes across the street to Nazareth College for the Marks Pizzeria Crosstown Shoot out. The team’s first game will be at 6 p.m. on Friday against the University of Rochester.
