Alexandrea Malley of the field hockey team has been named the St. John Fisher College Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on November 13, 2016

Malley scored the game-winning overtime goal against Rhodes College on Wednesday, helping the team move on to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Championship.

Tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, the Cardinals and Lynx found themselves in a seven-on-seven, golden goal overtime period. Malley, who normally finds herself on the backline as a defender, pushed up into the play as the Cardinals gained some offensive pressure. The senior wedged herself in front of the opposing netminder and when Lauren Fazio took a rip from outside of the arc, she was there to tip it into the back of the net.

The goal was the first of the season for her and her second in 82 games played at Fisher.
