David Cerqua (Baldwinsville/Baldwinsville) had been selected as the College's Male Athlete of the Week for the week that ended on January, 26, 2020.

Cerqua led all players in digs in every match this past weekend for the Cardinals as they went 4-0 at the SUNY Poly Wildcat Invitational. The Baldwinsville native broke his own program-record with 26 digs in the 3-2 win over Wentworth on Saturday as Fisher came back from down two sets to defeat the Leopards. Heading into the match, Wentworth was undefeated and and is receiving votes in the latest national poll.

Cerqua leads the United Volleyball Conference in digs (97) and digs per set (3.73) this season. The libero also tallied 14 assists on the weekend. Men's Volleyball travels to the Buffalo area to face Wittenberg University on Friday at 5 p.m. and then faces tournament host-Daemen College on Saturday at 12 p.m. The Cardinals will look to continue their six-match winning streak.
