PITTSFORD, N.Y., April 13, 2015 – St. John Fisher College’s Meghan Burns (Bethlehem/Delmar) of the softball team has been selected as the College’s Female Athlete of Week for the week ending April 12, 2015.

Burns extended her 11-game hitting streak after registering 16 hits in a 7-1 week for the Cardinals. She paced Fisher with a .533 batting average and a .733 slugging percentage with three doubles on the week.

The senior captain also launched a three-run home run in an 8-0 mercy rule victory over visiting Elmira College on Sunday’s Senior Day.

Burns went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate in Fisher’s 6-1 win in Game 2 against visiting Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday.

The Cardinals, who are on the road for the next six doubleheaders, start their trip on Tuesday at the College at Brockport with a 3 p.m. start time.
