Junior Tayler Dence (Hannibal/Hannibal) of the St. John Fisher College women’s track and field team has been tabbed the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for her performances during the week that ended December 2nd, 2018.

Dence took home two top three finishes as the Hannibal native opened the 2018-19 season at the Brockport Early Season Invite inside the Special Events and Recreation Center.

Dence won the 60-meter dash and was within .01 seconds of tying a program mark after crossing the finish line in 7.91 seconds.  The junior sprinter, who became the first track athlete in program history to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship last spring, went on to finish in third place in the 200-meter dash on Saturday at 27.15 seconds.

Dence and the rest of the track and field team will return to action on Saturday when they head east for the Pioneer Winter Classic in Utica.
