PITTSFORD, N.Y., September 12, 2011 — St. John Fisher College’s Jordan Brungard (Hornell/Hornell) of the women’s tennis team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 11, 2011.

Brungard went undefeated in singles and doubles play to lead Fisher to a 3-0 week.  In the team’s opening match against Alfred University on Tuesday, Brungard won 6-2, 6-2 at fourth singles and teamed up with teammate Kathryn Pasier to win 8-2 at second doubles.

In Thursday’s match versus the College of Brockport, the co-captain earned the decisive point in a 5-4 team win with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 victory in third singles.  She won 8-4 at doubles as well.  

Against Utica College on Sunday, Brungard only dropped one game during singles and doubles play combined.  She won at fourth singles 6-1, 6-0, while teaming up with Pasier again to win 8-0 at second doubles.

The Cardinals return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday when they host William Smith College.
