St. John Fisher University Athletics

Carli Kovarik (Liverpool/Liverpool) of the St. John Fisher College women's soccer team has been named the College's Female Athlete of the Week for action taking place during the week that ended October 7, 2018.

Kovarik helped lead the Cardinals to a 1-1-0 week as the Cardinals fell in the 89th minute at No. 18 Rochester before defeating Hartwick College, 2-1, in an Empire 8 tilt.

Kovarik provided all the offense Fisher needed last week as the freshman netted three goals in all. Against Rochester, the Liverpool native scored in the 11th minute before adding two more goals in a critical conference win against the Hawks on Saturday.

Kovarik leads the team and ranks third among all players in the conference with 7 goals on the season.

Women's soccer will return to the pitch at 7 p.m. on Tuesday when it travels to Fredonia.
