Sammie Torlish (Farmington/Victor) of the softball team has been named the St. John Fisher College Female Athlete of the Week.

The freshman paced the offense for the Cardinals on their spring trip to Tucson, Arizona to take part in the NFCA Leadoff Classic as well as the Tucson Invitational Games. Fisher finished the 12 game stretch off with a 7-5 record overall to begin its season.

 Torlish would start and play in 11 of the 12 games, going 20-39 to accumulate a .513 batting average.

The freshman shortstop would add eight doubles and a single triple on the week, to go with 13 runs batted in and crossed the plate 12 times on the week.

The Cardinals return to play at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21st as the team is slated for a double-header at home against the University of Rochester.
