Tayler Dence (Hannibal/Hannibal) has been named the St. John Fisher Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 25th, 2018.

Dence helped the Cardinals to a third place finish in the Empire 8 Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, hosted by Houghton College.

The Hannibal native stole the show and gave the Cardinals a big boost after finishing first in the 60-meter dash, as well as the 60-meter hurdles. The 7.90 second 60-meter dash time stamp set a new college record and qualified Dence for the Atlantic Regional Meet. The 60-meter hurdles time also qualified the sophomore for the regional meet in Ithaca, New York.

Dence also took the third place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.52, just two hundredths of a second behind the second place finisher.

The Cardinals are slated to compete on Friday, March 2nd and Saturday, March 3rd in the Atlantic Regional Meet in Ithaca, New York.
