Peter Girardi of the St. John Fisher College men’s track and field team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending December 3rd, 2017.

On Saturday the Cardinals kicked off their 2017-18 campaign in which the team competed in the Brockport Early Season Invite.

Girardi would post a first place finish in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 48.96, good for first overall in the nation.

The Cicero native would also compete alongside his teammates in the 4x400 relay, helping the team earn the fifth place finish in the event. The relay team would clock in at 3:37.90 at the completion of the race.

The team would go on to finish fifth overall in the meet.

Fisher returns to action at 4 p.m. on Friday as the team travels to Houghton to compete in the Houghton December Classic.
