Katie Mazierski of the softball team has been selected as the St. John Fisher College Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 5th, 2017.

Mazierski helped lead Fisher to its first two wins of the season on Sunday, going a perfect 7-for-7 at the plate, notching two RBI and four stolen bases.

In the first matchup against Emerson College, Mazierski would hit a single in the first inning before being driven home by Sarah Kubik. The junior led off the fifth with a double and would later score.

The Cardinals defeated Saint Joseph’s 8-0 in the second game, where Mazierski would score two more runs on the day, going 3-for-3 and stealing three bases.

Mazierski was also this week’s selection for Empire 8 Conference Softball Player of the Week.

Fisher is back in action on Monday when it takes on Theil College at 1:15 p.m. and No. 12-ranked Worcester Polytechnic Institute at 3:30 p.m.
