Jack Behlmaier (Depew/Cheektowaga) of the St. John Fisher College men’s track and field team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week after record-setting performances over the weekend at the Terrier Classic in Boston, Mass.

Behlmaier set a new program record in the 500-meter dash and bettered his own ECAC qualifying mark with a time of 1:07.36 before going on to establish another program record in the 4x400 relay as he Eddie Mahana, John Woodworth and Peter Girardi shattered the previous benchmark with a time of 3:24.35.  The quartet’s time is currently the 16th fastest time in the nation.

Behlmaier and the rest of the men’s track and field team will return to competition Friday when they travel to Rochester Institute of Technology for the R.I.T. invite.
