St. John Fisher University Athletics

St. John Fisher College’s Chrissy Cook of the women’s lacrosse team has been selected as the College’s Female Athlete of Week for the week ending May 8^th, 2016.

Fisher ended its week with an Empire 8 Conference Championship title for the fifth season in a row. The Cardinals defeated opponent Ithaca College for the fifth-straight year in a 9-8 overtime victory.

The Cardinals and the Bombers battled back-and-forth all game, ending regulation tied at 8-8. Cook scored the game-winning sudden death goal with 29 seconds left in overtime to give Fisher the championship title.

With the win, Fisher receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament, and will host Calvin College in the second round of the tournament at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Fisher’s Growney Stadium.
