St. John Fisher College’s Mark VanMarter of the men’s indoor track and field team has been selected as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 14th, 2016.

Following his performances in the high jump and long jump, VanMarter was selected as the Empire 8 Conference Championship Athlete of the Meet for the second year in a row, and was honored as this week’s Empire 8 Male Field Athlete of the Week.

His long jump distance of 6.85 meters was good for first place in the event, while he also took second place in the high jump with a distance of 1.98 meters. The sophomore was able to secure 18 points for Fisher, as the team placed second overall.

The Cardinals will compete next on Saturday when they travel to Utica to participate in the Pioneer Invite.
