St. John Fisher College’s Emily Piacentini of the women’s basketball team has been selected as the College’s Female Athlete of Week for the week ending November 29th, 2015.

Piacentini guided Fisher to its championship title in the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Invitational this weekend with back-to-back wins against Wells College and Union College.

On Friday, in Fisher’s 86-50 win against Wells, Piacentini went 4-for-4 from the floor and tallied nine points while notching a team-best five assists.

On Saturday she led her team to its 77-69 championship victory over Union College by posting a team-high 15 points and six assists. With just over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter Piacentini went on an eight-point run consisting of two back-to-back 3-pointers to extend the Cardinal’s lead to 11 over the Ductchwomen.

Fisher is set to compete next on Tuesday in the 23rd Annual Wendy’s College Classic, hosted throughout the Rochester region.
