St. John Fisher University Athletics

St. John Fisher College's Mike Roman (Spencerport/Rochester) has been named the College's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 2, 2014.

Roman played a key role in helping Fisher pick up two wins over the weekend as the Cardinals defeated Aurora University 12-0 before holding on for a 1-0 win against Gwynedd-Mercy University in Lake Myrtle, FL.

Roman went a combined 5-for-10 in three games with one double, four RBI and three runs scored for Fisher.

The Spencerport graduate posted a solid line at the plate in Fisher's season-opener against Aurora, going 3-for-4 with a game high three runs batted in.

Fisher will continue its play at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational this week with four more games.  The Cardinals will make their home-debut on March 25 when they host the College of Brockport at Dugan Yard.
