St. John Fisher College’s Chaz Lott (Wynantskill/Christian Brothers Academy) of the men’s basketball team has been named as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 9, 2014.
Lott recorded three outstanding performances in a 3-0 week for the Cardinals. On Tuesday, in a 92-69 win at Utica College, he was only one assist shy of achieving a double-double, posting 18 points and nine assists. He also set a new career-high with six steals.
The sophomore guard continued his outstanding play on Friday, posting 16 points, five rebounds, three steals, and three assists in an 89-59 win over visiting Houghton College.
Lott closed the week with his strongest performance yet, recording a career-high 29 points while adding five rebounds, five assists, and three steals to lead the team to an 81-71 victory at Ithaca College, securing a winning season for the Cardinals.
Fisher is now 14-9 overall and 7-5 in the Empire 8 Conference. The team will return to action at 6 p.m. this Friday and will host East Avenue rival Nazareth College in the final home game of the 2013-2014 regular season, the annual “Battle of the Beaks” game.
