St. John Fisher College has selected Jessica Plukas (Irondequoit/Rochester) of the women’s soccer team as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 31, 2010.

The sophomore goalie recorded her sixth shutout of the season in Fisher’s lone game of the week, a 1-0 win at Utica College on Saturday.

Plukas stopped five shots in regulation. Fisher scored the game’s only goal in the third minute of overtime. With the win, Fisher finishes the season with a 6-10-2 overall record.

For the season, Plukas started in goal in all 18 games and finished the year with a1.22 goals against average and an .811 save percentage.
