Brandon Fuentes (Avon/Avon) of the St. John Fisher College men’s track and field team has been selected as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 26, 2014.

At the Hamilton College Continental Invitational on Saturday, Fuentes set a new Fisher record in the triple jump, clearing 13.50 meters, good for fifth place overall in the event.

His performance also qualified him for the ECAC Championships taking place over March 7-8 in Boston, Mass.

Fisher will return to action on Saturday in Ithaca at the Empire 8 Conference Championship.
