St. John Fisher College’s Nicoletta Lattuca (Spencerport/Rochester) of the women’s indoor track and field team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending December 4, 2011.
Lattuca, a freshman, and the rest of the track and field team competed at the Cornell Relays on Saturday, marking the first competition in the program’s history.
Lattuca competed in both the 60-meter hurdles and the 60-meter dash, qualifying for finals in the latter. In the event, Lattuca recorded a time of 8.36 seconds to finish in 16th place among numerous Division I competitors. She also recorded a time of 10.36 seconds in the hurdles, marking the first time she had competed in the event.
Both indoor track and field teams will return to action this week, as they travel to Rochester Institute of Technology for the RIT Early Season Invitational. The event will begin at 4 p.m. at the Gordon Field House.
