St. John Fisher College’s Brandon Witte (C.W. Baker/Baldwinsville) of the men’s basketball team has been selected as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 6, 2011.

Witte averaged 11.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in a 1-2 week for Fisher (12-9 overall, 8-4 Empire 8), while shooting 53.6% (15-of-28) from the floor.

The senior shot 5-for-7 from the field and totaled 10 points and five rebounds in a 68-46 win over host Alfred University on Tuesday.

On Friday, Witte scored all 11 of his points in the first half, while shooting 5-for-8 from the floor in a 68-64 loss to visiting Hartwick College.

In Saturday’s loss to Stevens Institute of Technology, Witte tallied 14 points, while snagging four rebounds.

For the season, the 6-foot-6 forward has started in all 20 games he’s played in and is averaging 9.3 points and 4.6 rebounds, while shooting 53.7% from the floor.

Fisher will return to action at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Rochester Institute of Technology
