St. John Fisher University Athletics

St. John Fisher College has named Danielle Leone of the softball team as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 28.

In her pitching debut, the freshman dominated Fisher’s second game of the 2010 season from the mound. In a 7-0 win over Sul Ross State University, Leone pitched the first 5.1 innings of play, allowing only one hit and recording five strikeouts.

Leone is now 1-0, picking up the win for Fisher.

Fisher continues play at the Tucson Invitational for the remainder of the week. The Cardinals went 1-1 in their opening day in Arizona, and look forward to eight more contests as the week progresses.
