St. John Fisher College’s Mary Stimson (Cicero-North Syracuse/Cicero) of the women’s lacrosse team has been named as the College’s Female Athlete for the week ending April 17, 2011.
In a 1-2 week for the Cardinals, Stimson totaled 10 points on nine goals and one assist. She also finished the week with four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
The senior started the week off with three goals in Fisher’s 17-16 overtime-loss to Rochester Institute of Technology on Tuesday.
After recording just one assist in a 13-11 loss at Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday, Stimson delivered in Fisher’s lone win of the week the very next day.
The attacker scored six goals, tying her career high, in Fisher’s 21-11 win at Hartwick College. During the game, she became just the seventh player in Fisher history to score 100 or more goals in a career.
For the season, Stimson ranks second on the team in scoring with 39 goals and third on the team in points with 46. For her career, she has 141 points on 102 goals and 39 assists.
Fisher will return to action at 4 p.m. on Friday and will host Utica College.
