2024-25: Finished the season 20-13 overall… had six victories by fall, three by technical fall and three by major decision… placed eighth at 133 pounds in the NCAA Division III Region II championships… took second at 133 pounds in the SUNYAC Championships on Jan. 18… named a Scholar All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).

2023-24: Went 15-13 overall… competed in the SUNYAC and NCAA DIII Mideast Regional championships.

High School: Participated in four year of varsity wrestling and football... Named Scholar Athlete in Football in 2022... Named White Division Honorable Mention in Football, First-Team All-County for Wrestling, First Team All-Conference for Wrestling, All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2020... 2020 District 10 Champions for Wrestling... 2019 State Champions for Football...2022 District Champions for wrestling... 2022 Essec Country Finalist in Wrestling.

Personal: Derek is the son of Michele and Jack Bernardino... he is majoring in Statistics... His favorite athletic moment is winning districts his senior year... He started wrestling in seventh grade after encouragement from his father... His favorite pro sports team is the New York Giants.
