St. John Fisher Accepting Nominations For 2026 Athletics Hall of Fame Class

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics continues to accept nominations for its 2026 Hall of Fame Class, which will be announced in July and honored on Friday, September 18. 

Founded in 1992 with four charter members in the inaugural class, the St. John Fisher Athletics Hall of Fame recognizes those who have made significant contributions to the university's athletic programs and reputation. The St. John Fisher Athletics Hall of Fame serves to honor those who have helped grow the tradition of excellence and pride that have come to embody what it means to be a Cardinal.

Additional details about the 2026 Hall of Fame Ceremony will be available at a later date. 

Nomination Process

Anyone can nominate a person to be considered for the Hall of Fame. Once nominated, the candidate remains under consideration by the committee in perpetuity. To submit a nomination online, please fill out a nomination form HERE. 

Nomination Requirements

Former Student-Athletes

General Criteria: An athlete satisfying all of the general criteria below may be nominated to the Hall of Fame. Criteria should be based primarily, * but not limited to, performance at St. John Fisher University. A lapse of seven (7) years must occur after participation in St. John Fisher University athletics to be considered for the Hall of Fame.

  1. The candidate must have been outstanding, as evidenced by such accomplishments as All-American, National Champion or qualifier, recipient of various athletic awards and honors, special team nomination (All-Conference, All-Region), school records set and statistics.

  2. The candidate must have exhibited acceptable standards of conduct during competition. While athletic achievement is of prime importance, moral character and good citizenship during both undergraduate and postgraduate years will be taken into consideration.

  3. Graduation is required

Former Coaches

  1. The Candidate qualifies upon retirement from St. John Fisher University or

  2. The Candidate must be departed from the University for a minimum of five (5) years if not retired.

  3. The Candidate must have an outstanding record of contribution to the St. John Fisher University athletic program.

Contributors/Supporters, Meritorious Service, Sports Professionals

  1. Candidates from this category include other graduates, faculty members, administrators, and/or friends of St. John Fisher University.

  2. The Candidate made outstanding contributions in the area of athletics at St. John Fisher University.

  3. The Candidate provided meritorious service to the athletic program and is an example of good character and citizenship.

  4. The Candidate's achievement must be so exceptional as to eliminate any question as to the selection.
