PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's track and field team competed in the Cardinal Classic on Saturday at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex. 

Track Highlights

• Sophomore Corinthian Reed placed second in the 400-meter run, sprinting to a time of 50.82 seconds. 

• Junior Jace Stuart took second place in the 800-meter run with a season-best time of 1:57.85. 

• Freshman Mason Wager won the 400-meter hurdles event, running to a time of 1:00.33. 

• Senior Ethan Fox placed first in the 200-meter run with a time of 22.35 seconds. 

Field Highlights

• Senior Brandon Kaplan moved up to No. 6 on the DIII national performance list for the hammer throw with a season-best mark of 60.07 meters. He placed first in the event. 

• Sophomore Oren Welch placed first and qualified for the regional meet in the pole vault with a mark of 4.54 meters. 

• Sophomore Samuel Burns placed first in the long jump with a mark of 6.33 meters. 

• Sophomore Daniel Davis placed second in the shot put with a toss of 42.70 meters. Sophomore Michael Zatlukal placed third at 40.93 meters, and senior Bryce Grove took fourth at 38.10 meters. 

• Sophomore Brandon Keefe claimed second place in the javelin throw with a mark of 44.22 meters.
