PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Four St. John Fisher University student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Empire 8 Conference.
Taylor Shackleton (Junior, Softball) – Empire 8 Co-Player of the Week
Shackleton drove in four runs on a pair of home runs in six at-bats in a doubleheader against the University of Rochester on Saturday. The junior drilled a go-ahead three-run blast in the third inning of the first game, which the Cardinals went on to win 4-3, snapping an 11-game losing streak against the Yellowjackets.
Through 12 games this season, Shackleton has a .450 batting average, a .522 on-base percentage and a .750 slugging percentage. She has 18 hits, including six doubles and two homers, and has driven in 12 runs.
Sean Donaldson (Junior, Men's Lacrosse) – Empire 8 Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Donaldson totaled eight points on six goals and two assists over the Cardinals' games against No. 10 RIT and No. 19 SUNY Cortland last week. He matched his career high with four goals and had an assist for five points to lead Fisher to a 10-8 victory over Cortland on Saturday. He scored three of his goals in the second half, with one coming during a three-goal, fourth-quarter run that put the Cardinals in front for good.
Donaldson has 25 total points on 17 goals and eight assists through eight games this season. He's tallied multiple points in each game.
Ethan Hodge (Junior, Men's Lacrosse) – Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week
Hodge caused six turnovers and recovered six ground balls over Fisher's two games last week. He caused four turnovers and scooped up five ground balls, both career highs, in a 10-8 victory over No. 19 SUNY Cortland on Saturday.
Gabe La Robardiere (Senior, Men's Volleyball) – Empire 8 Player of the Week
La Robardiere slammed 19 kills and registered a .621 hitting percentage while leading the Cardinals to sweeps over Elmira, Hood College and King's College last week. La Robardiere led the Cardinals with 9.5 points against Elmira on Friday, slamming nine kills while hitting .667 to go with a block assist. He had six kills and hit .667 against Hood on Saturday.
La Robardiere leads Fisher in points (213.5) and kills (192) with just four regular-season matches left. He's second on the team among qualified players (min. 100 attempts) in hitting percentage (.315).
