FAIRPORT, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's ice hockey team fell short to Utica University 2-0 on Saturday at the Rochester Ice Center. The Cardinals dropped to 9-11-1 (4-5-1 UCHC), and the Pioneers improved to 6-14-1 (5-5-0 UCHC).
How it Happened
The Pioneers broke a scoreless tie just under five minutes into the second period when Maddi Vitali scored to open the scoring.
Less than two minutes into the third period, the Pioneers added to their lead as Angelina Garganese found the back of the net.
Freshman goaltender Brynn Bacak made 37 saves her tenth time this season with 30 or more saves.
